Biography

DitkaMy name is Ditka. I come from Slovenia, Europe. I love composing, singing and playing guitar. I also like nature and positive people.
I come from a music family, that's why music is a part of my life since I was a little girl. I have always loved listening to good music and singing. When I was 7 years old, I started to learn playing guitar in the Music school.
When I was 9 years old, I performed on my very first music festival »Kristalček«.At 11 I've recorded my first CD and the next year I won the biggest children music festival in Slovenia, called »Fens«,with my song »Album s slikami« (»Photo album«).
In the year 2010, me and my father started to write our own songs in english. The same year the song »So fine« made it to the album Val010 – imamo dobro glasbo (»Val010-we have good music«).
Two of my songs were successful on the  English competition UK Songwriting Contest. In 2011 the song »My guitar« made it to the semi-final in the category »Love songs«. In 2013 my very own song »Dreamer« made it to the final in the category  »Singer/Songwriter«.
Since 2012 me and my band have made many successful independend concerts around Slovenia (Ljubljana, Maribor, Koper, Slovenj Gradec,..). We performed on two big slovenian music festivals. Festival »Lent« in Maribor (2013, 2014) and festival »Pivo in cvetje« in Laško (2012, 2015).
In 2013 I released my second album »Ne bodi kot drugi«  on which you can find poems of the best known Slovenian poets (Feri Lainšček, Tone in Marko Pavček) set to music and my  own songs in English. The title song »Ne bodi kot drugi« (»Don't be like others«), poem of Feri Lainšček, set to music and arranged by Gorazd Čepin, is becoming a real hit all around Slovenia and I constantly performed it on weddings.
With my own music in english, in November 2015,  I won the music contest of Radio SI »30 years for you«.
Currently I'm working on my third album in collaboration with slovenian poet Feri Lainšček. We continue with our performances in Slovenia.
